Benefits of Noni fruit

Not many people know that Noni fruit, aka Noni fruit, is part of the coffee family species. This potato-sized exotic green fruit itself does not taste good and emits a foul odor that is slightly sharp, so it is more often consumed in the form of juice or dietary supplements. Although the appearance is less tempting, there are many benefits of Noni fruit for health that you may never know before.
What are the benefits of noni fruit for health?
Benefits of Noni fruit

1. Reduces fever
Studies show that Noni juice has antiviral properties and helps get rid of cough, reduces fever, and treat body aches.

2. Overcoming arthritis
If you live a healthy lifestyle and drink noni juice every day, you can reduce the pain caused by arthritis to a minimum. Various studies have shown that Noni juice helps reduce pain and reduce joint damage associated with arthritis due to its analgesic properties.
The research team in Germany studied the benefits of Noni fruit in reducing sensitivity to pain among test animals. As a result, analgesic efficacy of Noni was found to be comparable to tramadol, a prescription analgesic drug used to treat moderate to severe pain.
Wrap fresh Noni leaves around the problematic area is also said to relieve arthritis, swelling and pain due to arthritis.

3. Reducing the risk of gout
Gout is a type of arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints. Various studies have shown that noni juice can reduce the concentration of uric acid in the blood, thereby reducing the risk of gout.

4. Protect from the risk of damage due to stroke
Drinking noni juice can help protect you from damage that can be caused by a stroke. Researchers at Kobe Gakuin University Japan conducted lab tests on animals to determine whether the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of noni fruit would protect lab mice from brain damage caused by interruption of transient blood flow to the brain.
Once the blood flow in the rat's body recovered, the group of mice that received noni juice showed less neurological damage than the control group. Researchers published their findings in the 2009 Biological and Pharmaceutical bulletin.

5. Increases immunity
Another benefit of noni fruit for health is to improve the immune system. The content of scopoletin which is present in the noni fruit has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and anti-histamine properties which enhance the body's defense mechanism.
In addition, the anti-bacterial properties of noni fruit show efficacy that is effective enough to fight E. coli bacteria (causes of digestive disorders and urinary tract infections), Staphylococcus aureus (causes of skin and bone infections, to sepsis) and Proteus vulgaris (causes of urinary tract infections)

6. Lower cholesterol
Increased cholesterol levels in the blood are the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Smoking can also cause high cholesterol due to the buildup of oxidative stress in the body.
One study involved 132 participants who were described as heavy smokers. Participants were asked to regularly drink noni juice or placebo pills for a month. The results show that consuming 29 to 188 milliliters of noni juice can reduce total cholesterol in large quantities and increase levels of high density lipoproteins. High density lipoprotein is a good form of cholesterol.
Noni also reduces low-density lipoprotein, a form of bad cholesterol. These results are published in the 2012 edition of The Scientific World Journal.

7. Lowering blood sugar
Animal studies have shown promising results for the benefits of noni fruit to control blood glucose levels. Researchers at the West Indies University conducted one such study and found that noni fruit has blood sugar-lowering properties. This study involved giving noni noni supplements or prescription diabetes drugs to diabetic rats for 20 days to study the effects of blood sugar.
The study found that noni is also effective as a diabetes drug in lowering blood sugar. The results were published in the journal Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine last October.

8. Reduces stress
According to clinical nutrition expert Byron J. Richards, Noni juice can help you deal with stress and reduce the impact of stress on the cognitive function of the brain.

9. Prevent cancer
Noni fruit contains various antioxidants that can combat your risk of cancer. Noni fruit has shown immune stimulation properties and is against tumors. The National Cancer Institute has also funded preliminary research on the benefits of fruit for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

10. Treating scalp irritation
Dr Reema Arora, a dermatologist from Delhi said that although there is not much medical literature investigating the benefits of noni fruit, health experts agree that this green fruit contains anti-bacterial and antifungal properties, and thus can help overcome scalp irritation.
